What I've been up to lately…

The Nolan Family

It’s always fun hanging out with the Nolans, whether it’s up on Newfound Lake or at the yearly Christmas Eve’s Eve party. This Sunday afternoon was no different. Jenny and I took the drive up to spend the afternoon with this happy little family and eat some delicious Guinness beef stew.

Lately I’ve been trying to focus a lot more on lighting and getting better at the more technical aspects of my photography, but sometimes it’s better to just have fun and not think about it as much. Little Lexi and Tyler made that nice and easy. Many times when working with little kids, it takes a little time for them to warm up…not so much with these two. They were all about it. Five minutes into our visit, Tyler was leading Jenny around by the hand.

So I really just focused on trying to get their personalities to show in these photos, which I think I did successfully. That and getting a decent family photo for mom and dad.

Funniest part of the day is when we’re getting in the car to drive away. All we hear is Lexi yelling from the window inside the house, “Goodbye, take care of yourselves!”

Here’s a few from the afternoon:

Up next: Baby Ben

More to come…

Great pictures. You really captured them. He looks like his father and she is the image of her mother. Love the last picture on the stairs. Great family picture.

We have gotten so many compliments on these photos. Thanks so much for capturing the kids’ personalities so skillfully. It’s been awhile since they’ve seen you and I too was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they warmed up to you and the camera! Lexi asked last week when she can see “cuddly Jenny” again. 🙂
