Baby Ben!

In case you hadn’t all seen yet, my sister Tracy had a beautiful baby boy a couple of weeks ago now. Little baby Ben is now my 7th nephew in all.

Jenny and I were also both very surprised and psyched to be asked to be the Godparents. So I think this makes me the official Godfather of all Godfathers in this family.

I don’t have too many of this little guy yet, but I thought I’d share a few of the ones that I do have. The last two are my favorites.

The Nolan Family

It’s always fun hanging out with the Nolans, whether it’s up on Newfound Lake or at the yearly Christmas Eve’s Eve party. This Sunday afternoon was no different. Jenny and I took the drive up to spend the afternoon with this happy little family and eat some delicious Guinness beef stew.

Lately I’ve been trying to focus a lot more on lighting and getting better at the more technical aspects of my photography, but sometimes it’s better to just have fun and not think about it as much. Little Lexi and Tyler made that nice and easy. Many times when working with little kids, it takes a little time for them to warm up…not so much with these two. They were all about it. Five minutes into our visit, Tyler was leading Jenny around by the hand.

So I really just focused on trying to get their personalities to show in these photos, which I think I did successfully. That and getting a decent family photo for mom and dad.

Funniest part of the day is when we’re getting in the car to drive away. All we hear is Lexi yelling from the window inside the house, “Goodbye, take care of yourselves!”

Here’s a few from the afternoon:

Little Logan B.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Brtyes for a bit. Logan is the new addition to their little family. This guy is adorable.

We were just in my living room, but I tried to make it look a bit more “studio’ish”, attempting to pay attention to the light more. I think for the most part I was pretty successful. Next step will be trying to set up some kind of actual studio-like space, but we’ll see about that. I also came to the realization that I need to work a bit more on the posing aspect of family photos. I love the candid photos, but there’s something about a good candid, yet directed, shot like that last one in this set (which was my lovely wife’s idea, BTW).

Here are a few from this quick session:
